ICARUS NEWS (19 May 2009)

After some months of coming to terms with the 11 hour time difference between London and Melbourne (which usually means one of us in a general state of revelry at the end of the day rambling to the other, bemused, half-asleep and eating breakfast) it seems quite amazing that spring delivers the prospect of a European tour this summer, our first ever remix album and a feature on Audiobulb's new Favourite Places compilation ...
Rump Recordings will be releasing a compilation of remixes from our last release 'Sylt' to coincide with a sporadic European tour (dates below). The compilation features remixes by Badun, CoH, Digitonal, Frank Bretschneider, Goto80, ISAN, Ital Tek, Karsten Pflum, Lothar Ohlmeier / Isambard Khroustaliov, Nabo, Opiate, Svartbag and Xela and should be coming out to coincide with the first dates on the tour in July. The release also announces the final version of Alice Scott's animation to Keets (which you can take a sneak preview of on Vimeo), stills from which form the basis of the artwork. For those of you who like to get in there early, you can pre-order the album on Boomkat ...

Lastly, we're really pleased to have been asked to make a track for Audiobulb's Favourite Places series, the second installment of which is also due out sometime this summer. Our track, entitled 'South of London Drift' sits amongst contributions by Lawrence English, Yannick Franck, Michael Santos, Sawako, Jeremy Bible, Autistici, Calika, Michael Trommer and He Can Jog. We've yet to hear the whole thing, but it's arrival is eagerly anticipated ...
