Photos from the making of Martin Hampton’s film ‘Junk’
The film ‘Junk’ was created for the music to silent film evening curated by Icarus at the Lux cinema in 2001. Scrap was collected in Edmonton and carted to Dungeness on the Kentish coast, where the filming took place on the shingle at night. Gareth Humphreys joined us extracting sound from the scrap and also took the pictures below. Once the filming was complete, the music was then written using the sounds taken from the scrap keeping the visual material in mind.
